Just 12 days before my due date, I thought it’d be nice to share a little update from my little corner of the world. This here is the nursery we put together for our baby boy, with kind donations from friends with older children, decorations we’ve collected throughout our lives (including dino stuffies from little Sem!) and the comfiest, softest, bluest chair from Ikea. I also adore the moon lamp, which was a gift from my girlfriends. I painted the stars on the wall by hand, and you may recognize the deer painting from this blog post.
I haven’t really done much painting in the last few weeks, but in the middle of November I participated in Folktale Week on Instagram. For seven days I followed the prompts thought up by a group of artists and created a painting using that prompt. I decided to use gouache for all the paintings and had a hard time with it at the beginning, because I had been working only in acrylics prior. But as the week progressed, I got reacquainted with gouache and learned for which styles I like using it. Especially for cute bumblebees!
For now I want to wish everybody a cosy festive season and all best wishes for the new year. See you there!
