I’ve been wanting to make some pillow covers with my stamps for our couch, and since I had these past two weeks off from my day job, I finally had time to do it. We already have four pillow covers from previous collections on our couch, but they are so nice and soft and we use them a lot, so more are always welcome! I had a feeling the stamped patterns would look great on pillow covers too, so I stamped them by hand on the heavyweight hemp/organic cotton blend fabric I’ve always used for pillow covers. After I’d sewn them into pillow covers and propped them on our couch, both me and Sem were so excited about them, we thought it was a great idea to offer them in the shop too.
The only thing that stood in the way, was that whilst stamping these covers, I was reminded of why I don’t stamp my products by hand anymore: my wrist problems emerged again immediately. But luckily, Sem is as excited as I am about my work, so he offered to help me stamp them! I will place the stamps on the fabric and he will put pressure on them, which is the part that inflames my wrist. If there is enough interest in these pillow covers, I will have them digitally printed on linen too, because Sem has a more than fulltime job, but for now we will make them completely by hand on my hemp/organic cotton blend fabric.
Besides the three stamped designs, I also put the last remaining pink splatter pillow covers in the shop, because they go so well together. I hope you like them! And I’d love to know: would you like to see more pillow cover designs in the shop, in different colors? Let me know in the comments below!
PS The book on the armrest is The River of No Return by Bee Ridgway, which I’ve finally started reading (oh glorious holidays) and am enjoying very much.
