Hello and happy Friday! Today is a good day because I’ve just wrapped up my work at the day job and I now have two weeks off! I’ve been counting down the days to be honest. My day job costs a lot of energy – different energy then what I need for Windward Made, but it can still leave me exhausted and get in the way of my creative time or “getting shit done” attitude I sometimes need. Things have also been hectic on the home front, so this break from the daily grind is very welcome.
I’m going to do some drawing, carving and painting with all the time in the world, letting loose those ideas swimming in my head. I’m going to read books, cook good meals from new-to-us recipes and take looooong walks. I’m going to clear out the attic and get the garden ready for winter (well, partly; the tomatoes are still going strong!).
We’re also going to the sea to watch Giant Whales on a giant screen, take a walk on the beach and eat seafood in the harbour. And I’m particularly excited to have the opportunity to go see Al Gore(!), Richard Branson, Bear Grylls and Anita Elberse speak at Inspiration360, an event that aims to motivate and inspire entrepreneurs. I hope to walk away with some valuable lessons for my own endeavours! I’ll share them with you in a blog post next week and keep you posted on those ideas, recipes and reads over on instagram.
I hope you have a good weekend ahead of you and are able to take a break when you need one.
Lots of love,
